Betis Street was one of the first areas that we found in Sevilla that was away from the tourist madness that is Sevilla. Here we found relaxed locals, nice views, and good food.
It’s immediately across the river from the main tourist area and runs along the Rio Guadalquivir. The street is lined with colourful buildings, restaurants, tables and chairs — and resembles a giant patio with great views of the Torre del Oro and the tops of the historic sites across the river.
Betis Street is in Triana, a community originally founded by the Romans. Throughout the ages it was inhabited by a mix of gitanos, bull fighters, artisans and sailors. This hodgepodge of people from many different walks of life helped create a very vibrant and unique neighbourhood.
