Pike Place Market, Seattle

No trip to Seattle is complete until you’ve been to Pike Place Market by the wharf. The market wasn’t too far from where we were staying in Capital Hill; however, Seattle is one of the hilliest cities in North America and we decided to take it easy and hop on the bus to exerience Maya’s favourite bus driver: Twightlight Zone man. It was everything we’d hoped it would be as our “Amuricuuun” bus driver welcomed us to the twilight zone and gave us his twilight commentary as we rode up the hill and then down to the market.

The Market is nine-acre historic district that is definitely a unique place to hang out; here you’ll find farmers, fishermen, craftspeople, and commercial businesses peddling their wares. We wandered around the market before going in and found some interesting crafts for sale including starship enterprise dope pipes! Behind everyone in one of the photos below (behind the red truck) is the first Starbucks coffee shop (circa 1971).
